Assam: Locals steal rice sacks after goods truck plunges into pit near Kaziranga

In a tragic incident near Kaziranga National Park, Assam, a fatal road accident occurred at the Deochur area of Kaliabor. The accident involved a goods truck which lost control, veering off the national highway and plummeting into a pit within the confines of the renowned national park.

The vehicle, identified as a multi-wheeler truck bearing the registration number RJ 07 GD 4693, was reportedly attempting to overtake at an excessive speed when the accident unfolded. The truck was transporting boots from Rajasthan to upper Assam at the time of the mishap.

Fortunately, the driver and his handyman managed to escape with their lives, albeit sustaining injuries in the process. Both individuals have been promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities, including the police, have swiftly responded to the scene of the accident to manage the situation and conduct necessary investigations into the cause of the incident.
