A 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly recording and circulating objectionable photos and videos of his wife on social media platforms. The incident occurred in the Bajarisora Police Station area of Sribhumi district.
The accused, identified as Zakir Hussain, reportedly used his mobile phone to secretly record intimate moments of his wife without her consent. According to police sources, Hussain later shared the content via Facebook and WhatsApp, where it quickly spread.
The victim, upon discovering the violation of her privacy and dignity, lodged a formal complaint at Bajarisora Police Station. Acting promptly, police launched an investigation and apprehended Zakir Hussain. The mobile phone used to commit the crime was seized as evidence.
Following his arrest, Hussain was produced before the local court, which ordered his remand to district jail. The case has sparked widespread condemnation, with members of the community expressing outrage over the violation of trust and dignity within a marital relationship.
Authorities have urged citizens to respect digital privacy and warned of strict action against the misuse of social media platforms for defamatory or exploitative purposes.
