Assam: Man attacks wife, mother-in-law with machete in Bajali before fleeing with child

A violent domestic assault in Nityananda Panbari, Bajali district, has left two women fighting for their lives after being attacked with a machete by a family member.

 

Kapil allegedly turned on his wife, Seema Medhi, and mother-in-law, Gayatri Medhi, with the weapon, inflicting severe head and hand injuries on both victims.

 

The attack occurred at the family home before Das fled the scene with his four-year-old daughter.

 

Local residents responded quickly to the emergency, rushing both injured women to Pathsala Civil Hospital, where they are receiving treatment for their wounds. The extent of their injuries has raised serious concerns about their recovery.

 

Police are currently searching for Kapil, who remains at large with the child. The incident has shocked the local community in this area of Assam, highlighting the urgent need for intervention in cases of domestic violence before they escalate to such extreme levels.
