Assam: Man brutally killed and dumped outside Dudhnoi shop
Dudhnoi police in Assam launched a murder probe on April 5 after locals discovered the mutilated body of a 35-year-old man dumped in front of the Rays Cooperative Society office in the town's bustling daily market.
The victim, identified as Batsu Raha from across the Dudhnoi River, appeared to have been savagely beaten with a rod or similar weapon. Eyewitnesses reported signs that the attackers dragged the body from nearby before fleeing, leaving it torn and battered in plain view.
The gruesome find sparked immediate chaos, with shocked residents gathering at the scene and demanding swift action. Traders shut shop briefly amid fears for safety in the busy market area.
Dudhnoi police rushed to the spot upon alert and secured the area for forensic examination. Officers recovered the body and began questioning witnesses, suspecting a targeted attack possibly linked to a personal dispute.
Authorities have urged the public to share any leads, promising quick arrests to restore calm in the community.
