In a shocking case of animal cruelty, a man was caught red-handed while cooking the leg of his pet dog in Mohmaiki village under Bokakhat subdivision. The accused, identified as Prashant Rajkhowa, allegedly killed two of his pet dogs and buried their remains near his house.

The incident came to light when animal activist Madhusmita Gogoi, working under Bokakhat Police Station, caught Rajkhowa in the act and seized the dog meat from him. She has since lodged a formal complaint at Bokakhat Police Station.

According to reports, Rajkhowa had previously killed a dog in a similar manner, but this time, he intended to consume its meat. His actions have sparked outrage among animal rights activists and local residents.

Further controversy surrounds Rajkhowa as he was also accused of damaging a music system in the early hours of the morning after being asked to turn it off. Authorities are investigating the matter, and legal proceedings are expected to follow under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
