<p>The deceased has been identified as Ranu Das, a resident of Ganganagar Ninth Block village under Krishnapur Ganganagar Gaon Panchayat.</p>

<p>According to locals, Das had gone fishing with a net in a drain near his house on Friday afternoon following rainfall. However, he did not return home that night.</p>

<p>His family members subsequently searched for him for several hours but were unable to trace him.</p>

<p>On Saturday morning, his body was recovered from the drain. Police reached the spot after being informed, recovered the body and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.</p>

<p>The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the Ganganagar area, with the circumstances surrounding his fall being investigated.</p>
