Assam: Man found dead along Cachar bypass, family seeks probe

A 32-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances along the Sonabarighat bypass road in Cachar district of Assam on Sunday, August 16,prompting his family to demand a thorough investigation.
 

The deceased was identified as Biswajit Pal, the only son of the late Binit Chandra Pal of Bhagabazar in Dhollai.
 

According to locals, the man’s body was found lying beside the bypass road in the Syedpur Part-II area in the morning. Police were informed and reached the spot. His motorcycle was also found near the body.
 

A forensic team examined the scene in the presence of a magistrate and collected samples as part of the investigation. The body was subsequently sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
 

A close relative said Biswajit was working and living in Tamil Nadu. He had returned to Silchar on Saturday, Independence Day, and spent the day at his sister’s house before travelling to his home in Bhagabazar in the evening.
 

On Sunday morning, he left home on his motorcycle. The family was informed shortly afterwards that his body had been found along the bypass.
 

The circumstances surrounding his death have raised concerns among his relatives, who have sought a thorough investigation to establish the exact cause of death. They have also demanded that anyone found responsible be identified and arrested if the investigation establishes a case of murder.
 

Police have not yet established the cause of death. The post-mortem report and ongoing investigation are expected to shed light on the circumstances leading to Biswajit’s death.
