Since one week of torrential rainfall at Assam which has brought flood at all over Assam but unfortunately Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma and Margherita Sub Divisional officer(civil) have no time to visit Khagoripathar village one of the worst flood affected area under 83 number Margherita Margherita Margherita of Tinsukia district.
"The ongoing floods have brought significant challenges to our lives as we find shelter in a local school. Our homes and agricultural lands have been devastated. The village leader visited us once and provided some rice. We urgently need government assistance to address all aspects of our situation. The lack of boats is exacerbating our difficulties", one local said.
Khagoripathar village unde Bhittorpowai gaon panchayat of Margherita 83 no. constituency is 10 kilometres away from Margherita headquarter and is one of the backward village lagging behind in everything such as pathetic condition of road, no safe drinking water supply facility, no health centre,no drainage system, no agriculture facilities and only one Khagoripathar LP School with more than 1000 population of this area.
Tea Tribes/Adivasi community, Gorkha and Assamese live at Khagoripathar village since more than centuries living in deplorable condition.
On wednesday Assam Tea Tribes Student Association (ATTSA) Margherita branch committee delegation visited Khagoripathar village and distributed food items to the flood affected people of Khagoripathar village.
One flood affected women said that it is very unfortunate that after the flood Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma and Margherita sub divisional officer(civil) have no idea visit here as it is one the most flood affected area of 83 number Margherita Constituency and due to flood many kind of disease have taken place but during this difficult time except Assam Government all people have visited Khagoripathar village and gave us according to their capability.
More than 1000 bighas of agricultural land gone to flood ruining our effort said a flood affected people of Khagoripathar village.
Pranjal Baraik joint publicity secretary of ATTSA central executive committee said that it is very unfortunate that Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma and Margherita sub divisional officer(civil) have not got time to visit Khagoripathar village which is one of the backward village under 83 number Margherita Constituency of Tinsukia district.
