Assam: Massive fire engulfs six shops at Bajali

A massive fire broke out in the daily market of Dhumarkur in Bajali, completely destroying six shops on March 17.

The fire, suspected to have been caused by an electric wire during a power outage, resulted in property damage estimated between Rs 30-40 lakh.

The Bajali police, along with the fire brigade, were present at the scene.

With the combined efforts of the Bhawanipur police and fire brigade, the entire area was eventually saved, as reported by Kono.

Earlier on March 11, a fire broke out at Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon district on March 10 night, and five people were injured while three houses were gutted in the fire. 

The incident took place at Vadaipara under Lengtisinga police station in Bongaigaon district. The houses of Abdul Karim, Subur Ali, and Abdul Rahim of Bhadaipara were gutted in the fire.
