Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika distributes Rs 10,000 cheques to nearly 19,480 women in Juria

Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika attended a cheque distribution programme under the Mahila Udyamita Scheme at the Juria playground in Nagaon district, where financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each was distributed to nearly 19,480 women beneficiaries from the Rupahihat constituency.

Addressing the gathering, Hazarika said the scheme aims to help women become financially self-reliant by enabling them to start small businesses and livelihood activities with the assistance provided under the initiative.

The programme was attended by MLA Jitu Goswami, Nagaon District Commissioner Devashish Sharma, and several other dignitaries.

During his speech, the minister also spoke about development initiatives in Rupahihat and made remarks regarding the upcoming Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election. His comments, including an appeal to counter the Congress, drew attention for carrying political undertones alongside the official welfare programme.
