Assam: Multiple shops looted in Bongaigaon despite Police patrols

In Abhayapuri of Bongaigaon district, five business establishments were looted in a single night despite heavy police patrolling.

The theft occurred in the market area of Abhayapuri town, targeting three jewellery shops, a clothing store, and a photo studio.

The thieves entered through the back doors of the establishments. Gold and silver ornaments worth over Rs 2 lakh were reported stolen from Matri Jewellery, New Sachitra Jewellery, and Golden Art Jewellery.

The absence of a night watch system in the Abhayapuri market has led to similar thefts occurring several times in the past.
