The residents of Salakati in Kokrajhar district are grappling with the dire consequences of neglected roads, which have become a source of hardship for pedestrians, commuters, and students alike.
For the past two years, the main thoroughfare road near to NTPC, connecting Kokrajhar to Chirang and Bangaigaon towns has fallen into disrepair, causing numerous accidents and hazards. Despite repeated appeals, the Public Works Department (PWD) and NTPC have failed to address the issue, leading to widespread frustration among the local populace.
There are many accidents on the road due to the dilapidated condition of the road.
The residents said the Government of BTR will face protests by the local people if they do not repair the dilapidated road within a short period of time.
