Sithila Bazaar in Fakiragram witnessed grand celebrations on the occasion of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s 128th birth anniversary, where a 17-foot statue of the legendary leader was garlanded and honored.
The program, organized at Kokrajhar district’s Sithila Bazaar, featured several ceremonial activities, including garlanding the towering statue of Netaji, lighting traditional lamps, and hoisting the Indian national flag. The event aimed to pay tribute to the leader’s invaluable contributions to India’s independence movement.
Indrajit Debnath, Secretary of the All Assam Bengali Youth Student Federation (BTR Zonal Committee), was present at the event, along with other dignitaries and residents. Prominent businessman and social worker Sukumar Debnath also actively participated in the celebrations and emphasized Netaji’s enduring legacy.
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose remains a revered figure in India, celebrated for his dedication to the freedom struggle and his call for complete independence. The anniversary events reflect the community’s respect and remembrance of his ideals.
