Assam: No flag hoisting at Boko Agriculture Office on Independence Day, raises questions

The absence of an Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony at the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer (Agriculture) in Boko, Assam, on August 15 drew attention and raised questions among local residents.

While government offices and educational institutions across the country observed Independence Day with flag-hoisting ceremonies, no such programme was held at the Boko Agriculture Department office, according to local sources.

The office reportedly had no officers or staff members present to conduct the ceremony. Fourth-grade employees at the office said they were unaware of the reason for the absence of the flag-hoisting programme.

The incident has sparked concern among residents over the functioning of the government office and the failure to observe the national occasion at the premises.

Local residents have sought clarification from the concerned authorities regarding the circumstances that led to the absence of the Independence Day ceremony.
