An interrogation is underway regarding the suspected involvement of Dimapur resident Rajesh Roy in the Naga militant outfit NSCN, following his arrest and subsequent detention at the Noonmati police station.
Rajesh Roy, who was apprehended by a team from the Noonmati Police Station based on intelligence information, has been under interrogation by the detective agency since 10 am on May 4. The interrogation aims to ascertain his alleged affiliation with the NSCN.
Following his arrest, Rajesh Roy was presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Kamrup Metropolitan district by the Noonmati police. The court has granted the police custody of the accused for five days to facilitate further investigation.
An insider from the police department revealed that Rajesh Roy will be transferred to the headquarters of the special branch in Kahilipara for additional interrogation. This move is part of the ongoing efforts to gather more information about his purported involvement with the NSCN.
The arrest of Rajesh Roy, also known as John, was made during a raid on his rented accommodation in Yuva Nagar, Dimapur. The operation led to the seizure of incriminating evidence, including a factory-made .22 pistol, a magazine, and 21 live rounds of ammunition from his possession.
