Assam: One dead, one injured in high-speed scooter crash in Chikni tea estate

A high-speed scooter crash in the Nisha Jakhlabandha Police Outpost area’s Chikni Tea Estate road claimed one life and left another person critically injured on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Brijen Tati (32) of Chikni Tea Estate, while the injured, Sunil Tati (30), is undergoing treatment.

According to police, the accident occurred when a scooter bearing registration number AS 12 W 5121 lost control at high speed and rammed into a roadside electric transformer pole.

The impact killed Brijen Tati instantly and left Sunil Tati with severe injuries.

Local tea estate residents, alerted by the crash, rushed both victims to Jakhlabandha Civil Hospital. Doctors declared Brijen Tati dead on arrival, while Sunil Tati was admitted in critical condition.

The accident site lies within the jurisdiction of the Nisha Jakhlabandha Police Outpost, and authorities are investigating the incident.
