Assam: One killed, several injured in horrific accident in Bhupen Hazarika Bridge

One person was killed and several others were injured ina horrific accident in Dhola-Sadiya Bridge, officially known as the Bhupen Hazarika Bridge. The incident occurred in the early hours March 10.

The vehicles involved in the horrific crash bear the registration numbers AS 23V1999 and AS 06D3909.

Action by local residents and response of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) army team, who happened to be passing through the route ensured that the injured passengers received immediate medical attention. A total of six passengers were suspected to be involved in the collision.

It was reported later that a promising student, identified as Jotisma Borgohain of Digboi lost her life in the accident.

The remaining passengers all battling critical injuries were transported to Tinsukia for urgent medical care.
