Assam: Opposition like ‘monsoon frogs,’ says Ranjeet Kumar Dass; claims alliance won’t dent NDA prospects
Assam Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Tuesday, February 24, likened opposition alliances to “frogs that appear during the monsoon,” asserting that such formations surface only during election season and fail to make any significant impact.
Speaking at the inauguration of an open gym, a modern public toilet and a water supply scheme under Abhayapuri Municipal Board in Bongaigaon district, the minister said that opposition unity or joint platforms are formed every time elections approach.
“Just as frogs emerge when it rains, opposition unity and platforms appear during elections. Earlier too, such alliances were formed but they could not achieve anything. This time as well, the opposition alliance will not be able to harm the NDA in any way,” he said.
Das maintained that despite repeated attempts at forging opposition unity, such efforts have failed in the past and would not affect the prospects of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming elections.
