Assam panchayat polls: BJP alliance candidate hails CM Sarma after sweeping victory in Kaliabor

In a resounding win for the AGP-BJP alliance, Anil Thakur has secured the Dwar Shalna Zila Parishad seat with an impressive margin of over 13,700 votes, defeating three rival candidates. The results were officially declared this morning following vote counting held since Sunday at the premises of the Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Officer’s office.

Thakur, who contested as the Mitrajot (AGP-BJP alliance) candidate, attributed his decisive victory to the impactful campaign led by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. “This victory was ensured by the Chief Minister’s campaign,” Thakur stated, underscoring the influence of high-profile endorsements during the election.
