Assam Petrochemicals Limited (APL) has officially made its Bongaigaon project operational, marking a significant milestone with the commencement of formalin production and its entry into commercial sales.
The new project, located at Dhaknabari in Bongaigaon district, is the fourth operational unit of APL, further strengthening the company’s industrial footprint in the state.
The launch ceremony witnessed the presence of APL Chairman Bikul Chandra Deka, Vice Chairman Hemanta Kumar Gogoi, and senior officials of the company.
During the event, Chairman Deka flagged off the first consignment of five trucks carrying 150 tonnes of formalin, destined for markets in West Bengal and the neighboring country of Bhutan.
Company officials noted that the Bongaigaon project will not only boost Assam’s industrial capacity but also enhance its trade links with regional markets, paving the way for stronger economic integration.
