Assam police bust drug racket in Sribhumi, seize contraband items worth lakhs
Assam police seized contraband drugs worth several lakhs during an operation in Sribhumi on December 29. The operation led to the recovery of a large quantity of contraband from an Innova vehicle, bearing registration number MZ/01/H/8258.
The seized items include:
- 6,000 Yaba tablets
- 379 grams of suspected heroin and
- a stash of banned cough syrup
Additionally, law enforcement officials apprehended a suspected supplier identified as Kabil Hussain, a resident of Jagannathi in the Sree Bhumi district.
Authorities lauded the operation as a major success in curbing the illegal drug trade and reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying actions against narcotics networks in the region. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further links in the supply chain.
