Assam police busts fake call centre in Kokrajhar, arrests fraudsters

In a significant breakthrough, Assam Police busted a fake call center in Kokrajhar's Subhashpalli area, which had been duping job seekers through fraudulent job advertisements.

The call center was part of an elaborate scam, targeting vulnerable individuals seeking employment.

The fraudsters posted fake job advertisements, promising employment opportunities at reputed companies like Tata Motors.

They collected money from unsuspecting job seekers under the guise of securing jobs for them.

The gang of fraudsters, originating from Uttar Pradesh, rented a house in Kokrajhar and set up a fake call center in Subhashpalli. They even hired four local young women to assist in their fraudulent operations.

During the raid, the police confiscated ten mobile phones and several incriminating documents, which further exposed the extent of the fraudulent activities being carried out.

This bust is part of a broader crackdown on fraudulent activities in the region, and the operation highlights the importance of vigilance against such scams targeting job seekers.

The police are urging the public to be cautious when responding to job offers and advertisements, particularly those requiring upfront payments.
