Assam Police personnel join Rongali Bihu festivities inside reserve campus in Bongaingaon
The first day of Rongali Bihu, known as Manuh Bihu, was marked with widespread enthusiasm across Assam, as communities welcomed the onset of spring with traditional festivities and cultural programmes.
In Bongaigaon, the district police joined the celebrations, organising a special Bihu programme within the police reserve campus. The event reflected the festive spirit that has gripped the state during one of its most significant cultural occasions.
Despite their routine responsibilities in maintaining law and order, police personnel in Bongaigaon took time to participate in the celebrations. A vibrant atmosphere prevailed within the campus, where officers and jawans gathered to mark the occasion.
Participants, including senior officials and ground-level personnel, were seen performing Bihu dance to the beats of traditional instruments such as the dhol and pepa. The performances, held in coordination with husori groups, drew attention for their synchronisation and energy.
