Assam Police remove black flags hoisted by student union protesting against CAA in Kaliabor

Assam Police in Kaliabor removed black flags hoisted by student union members who were protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Few members of Central Student Union staged a protest against the CAA and raised slogans against the government. The student union also alleged that the state police are being used as political help by political parties. 

The Central Students' Union of Kaliabor staged a protest by hoisting black flags on the streets of Kuwaritol on Thursday. Kaliabor police, however, removed the black flags from the protesters and sent them away.

On the other hand, the students' body has accused the Assam Police of being used as a political worker.

Widespread protests have broken out against CAA with numerous organisations, student unions, opposition raising their resentment against the Act.
