Assam: Political pulse rises in Bajali as BJP ally pushes for victory ahead of panchayat polls

As Assam gears up for the upcoming panchayat elections, political activity has intensified across districts, with Bajali witnessing a surge in campaign momentum.

On Monday evening, a significant election rally was held in support of Pranjit Kalita, the BJP ally candidate for Ward No. 5 of North Bajali Zila Parishad, and Munin Goyari, contesting for the regional panchayat seat from Bandhsidhani Gaon Panchayat.

The rally, attended by a large number of supporters, featured senior BJP spokesperson Kamal Medhi, who extended his backing to the alliance candidates and energized the gathering with his address.

Candidates urged the public to vote for the Padma (Lotus) symbol, representing the BJP-led alliance, in the second phase of polling scheduled for May 7.

Speaking at the event, Pranjit Kalita expressed optimism about the party’s performance.
"We are confident of a massive victory, supported even by members of the minority communities," Kalita said. "Since the BJP government came to power, our region has seen noticeable development, and the public recognizes that."
