Assam polls: Hagrama Mohilary leads high-voltage campaign across BTR, backs NDA nominees

Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) president and Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council, Hagrama Mohilary, on Thursday, April 2 led a series of high-energy campaign events across Kokrajhar district in support of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates.

Beginning his day at Serfanguri under the Dotma constituency, Mohilary addressed a public gathering backing BPF candidate Rabiram Narzary, urging voters to consolidate support for the alliance. He later moved to Bishmuri under the Kokrajhar constituency, where he campaigned for party candidate Sewli Mohilary, who is also his spouse.

Continuing his outreach, Mohilary addressed another rally at Banargaon under the Baokhungri constituency, extending support to NDA candidate Rupam Ray. Party workers and local supporters turned out in significant numbers at all three locations, signalling heightened electoral momentum in the region.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the campaign, Mohilary exuded confidence in the NDA’s electoral prospects, asserting that the alliance is poised to secure over 100 seats in the Assam Assembly and form the next government.

The intensified campaigning in Kokrajhar reflects the strategic importance of the BTR in the State’s electoral landscape, with multiple parties vying to consolidate their support base ahead of polling.
