Assam polls: Rahul Chetry and Garnel Minz file nominations for 83rd Margherita LAC
With voting for the Assam Legislative Assembly scheduled on April 9, March 23, Monday, was the last day for filing nomination papers. Rahul Chetry, the Raijor Dal candidate, and Garnel Minz of the Alliance Jai Bharat Party–Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, submitted their nomination papers at the Tinsukia District Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The office premises were crowded as supporters of both candidates raised slogans of "Rahul Chetry Zindabad" and "Garnel Minz Zindabad," creating a lively atmosphere.
Speaking to the media, Garnel Minz said that if elected, he would focus on addressing the sufferings and problems of the people of Margherita.
Rahul Chetry, representing Raijor Dal, is expected to strengthen his party’s presence in the constituency amid a competitive electoral environment.
Observers note that the upcoming election in Margherita is likely to witness a fierce contest between the ruling BJP, the opposition Congress, Raijor Dal, and other regional parties.
