A tense atmosphere gripped the Jhagrarpar area of Dhubri after a cow head was discovered near the premises of the Khalilpur Ambagan Sarvajanik Maa Durga Temple. The incident sparked widespread protests, with both Hindu and Muslim communities coming together to demand the swift arrest of those responsible.
Protesters, who blocked roads for hours, accused unidentified miscreants of attempting to incite communal disharmony. "This is a deliberate attempt to divide our communities," stated one protester. Demonstrators emphasized their united stand against acts designed to provoke discord and vowed to continue their agitation until justice is delivered.
The incident has fueled speculation about a larger conspiracy, with some linking it to the Assam government's recent ban on the public sale and consumption of beef. Many believe the act was orchestrated to undermine communal harmony in the state.
Law enforcement, led by Additional SP Dipjyoti Talukdar and Dhubri Sadar Police officers, quickly intervened, removing the cow head and initiating an investigation. Authorities assured the public of strict action against the culprits while urging residents to maintain peace.
Community leaders echoed these sentiments, calling for calm and resilience. "Our strength lies in our unity. We must not allow such incidents to divide us," remarked a local elder.
