Assam: Protests erupt in Bajali over land pattas demand under Bashundhara 3.0

Massive protests erupted at the Rayat's Land Service Committee in Bajali as people gathered to demand the issuance of land pattas under the Bashundhara 3.0 scheme for land they have been cultivating for over 150 years.

The protest meeting, presided over by youth activist Samudra Patgiri, focused on the long-standing land issues faced by the Bajali people.

The participants highlighted grievances stemming from a recent letter issued by the Patasarkusi revenue circle officer, which they claim undermines their land rights.

Patgiri emphasized the importance of resolving these issues and announced plans to meet the Bajali District Commissioner and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to seek redress.

Additionally, he called on local MLA and minister Ranjit Kumar Das to intervene and provide solutions.

The protesters warned that if their demands are not met, they will organize a democratic protest in front of the Patasarkusi revenue circle officer’s office. They reiterated their resolve to fight for their rightful ownership and appealed for immediate government action.
