Assam: PWD employee suspected of drugging family in alleged robbery attempt in Bongaigaon

Tension prevailed in Khagarpara, Bongaigaon district, on Wednesday, November 26 night after a Public Works Department (PWD) employee allegedly drugged his family in a suspected planned robbery attempt. Ajay Das Sarkar, residing in Khagarpara 2 No. area, and his family were found unconscious under mysterious circumstances, prompting urgent medical attention and a police investigation.

The incident came to light early Thursday, November 27 morning when a neighbouring woman discovered Pinky Talukdar, Ajay’s wife and a school teacher, lying unconscious. Soon after, Ajay and his mother were also found in similar conditions. All three were rushed to Bongaigaon for emergency treatment.

Police quickly responded and have launched a formal inquiry. While the exact motive of the incident remains unclear, officials confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway. 

Medical reports will play a crucial role in determining if any intoxicating substances were administered. Authorities have assured that legal action will follow once the investigation is complete and the facts are established.
