Assam: Raijor Dal's win guaranteed in Pahumara, says confident Akhil Gogoi

With the second phase panchayat elections fast approaching, political fervor gripped Pakabetbari as Raijor Dal staged a massive rally in support of its candidate Momtaj Begum, contesting from the No. 5 Pahumara Zila Parishad constituency.

The event, marked by a large turnout of enthusiastic supporters, was headlined by Raijor Dal president and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi. Addressing the crowd, Gogoi launched a scathing attack on Congress MLA Zakir Hussain Sikdar, alleging that he operates under the direct influence of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. "Zakir Hussain Sikdar is a man in the Chief Minister's pocket, which is why the BJP is privy to Congress's internal strategies," Gogoi charged during his fiery speech.

Expressing confidence in his party’s prospects, Gogoi claimed that victory for Momtaj Begum in Pakabetbari is "guaranteed," citing the strong grassroots support her campaign has garnered. "The people are wholeheartedly backing the Raijor Dal candidate," he asserted.

Gogoi also made veiled but significant remarks referring to Pakistan and Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi, hinting at larger political narratives. However, details of these comments were withheld, with party sources suggesting they may be elaborated on in the days to come.
