Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary visited Nimua in Baksa district, where he conducted the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for a Polytechnic and Vocational Training Institute. The institute, set to be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 24 crore, aims to enhance skill development and vocational education in the region.
During an interaction with the media, Narzary shared key insights into the ongoing political landscape, particularly concerning the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections. He affirmed that preparations for the polls were progressing efficiently and expressed strong confidence that the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL)-BJP alliance would retain power in BTC without any challenge.
Dismissing the recently formed alliance between the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) and Gana Suraksha Party (GSP), Narzary stated that the coalition would have no impact on the elections. He asserted that GSP had lost its political relevance and that there was no longer a divide between Bodo and non-Bodo communities in the region.
The MP further remarked that former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary no longer holds significance in BTC politics. He asserted that Mohilary’s demands for BTC governance would remain unfulfilled, stating that despite his claims, he would be unable to form a government.
Narzary emphasized that the people of BTC have realized the political reality and have made a clear decision to support the UPPL-BJP alliance. Confident in public backing, he reiterated that the alliance would once again secure a majority and establish its government in BTC.
The event was attended by BTR Council Speaker Katiram Boro, Executive Member Gautam Das, and several other dignitaries.
