The Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Branch has conducted a major operation at the Rangia Revenue Circle Office. In this operation, a Grade IV employee named Dimbeswar Haloi was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000. This incident has created intense sensation in the area and the office’s work has been temporarily halted.
According to the details of the incident, Dimbeswar Haloi had demanded Rs 60,000 as a bribe from an individual in the name of settling a land dispute. The Anti-Corruption Branch had secretly gathered information for some time and planned the operation accordingly. At the scheduled time, when Haloi accepted the bribe money, the officers of the Anti-Corruption Branch immediately caught him red-handed.
During the raid, the atmosphere in the office turned heated, and there was intense curiosity among the local people. After the operation, the Anti-Corruption Branch began an extensive interrogation of Dimbeswar Haloi. Preliminary investigation has revealed that such corrupt practices may have taken place in the office earlier as well. The investigating team is thoroughly probing the matter to identify other possible accomplices.
As a result of this incident, work at the Rangia Revenue Circle Office has come to a standstill. The public, who come to the office for their work, have expressed disappointment over the disruption.
