Assam: Rare pangolin rescued from house in Chirang

A full-grown wild pangolin, belonging to a rare species was rescued in West Khathalpara village after it appeared at a resident's house last night. The resident managed to safely relocate the pangolin inside his house without causing harm.

Early this morning, local media informed the forest department about the unexpected visitor. Forest personnel promptly responded, arriving from the Basugaon forest depot to rescue the rare pangolin.

Authorities are currently assessing the health of the pangolin and planning its safe release back into its natural habitat.
