The newly formed armed militant group, Greater Cooch Behar Liberation Organisation (GCLO), said that the reports of Assam police claiming to arrest six cadres of the organisation, is entirely false.
The GCLO president, Nirmal Ray via a video message claimed, “I am Nirmal Ray, President of newly formed armed militant organisation Greater Cooch Behar Liberation Organisation. Recently, Assam police has been claiming that they have arrested 6 GCLO cadres under Gossaigaon Police Station, is completely false”.
“None of our cadres are in Kokrajhar or Gossaigaon. This way police is trying to create trouble for the innocent Kamtapur residents. It is very unfortunate incident. Hence, our entire organisation strongly condemn police’s action. Hence, I want to alert my people to stay aware from thus vicious group of police officials. Jai Koch Rajbongshi, Jai Kamtapur, Jai Shiv Chandi,” he added.
Security forces had apprehended 6 persons who were suspected to be members of GCLO on February 21 in Assam’s Gossaigaon area.
The arrested cadres were identified as Sanjeev Roy, Gautam Rai, Uttam Roy, Manoj Roy, Abhijit Vashisht and Dipesh Roy.
