Police detained 11 Rohingyas on Tuesday morning, September 16, from the Kali Mandir area adjoining Kalibari Road in Tarapur, Silchar.
The incident occurred around 10 am.
According to police sources, the group had reportedly arrived in Silchar from Hyderabad and were searching for rented accommodation in the Kalibari Road locality when their presence aroused suspicion among local residents.

The residents alerted members of the Bajrang Dal, who in turn informed the Tarapur police station.
Acting swiftly, police personnel reached the spot and detained all 11 individuals. Among those apprehended were men, women, and several children.
Officials confirmed that the detainees would be produced before the court later today.
