Assam: RPF under scrutiny after alleged harassment complaint leads to accused’s sudden release

A controversial incident unfolded at New Bongaigaon Junction involving a BSF jawan, Prakash Malo, who lodged a complaint with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) alleging that he was being harassed by a miscreant while travelling on the Rajdhani Express towards New Bongaigaon.

According to reports, following the complaint, the RPF official on duty surprisingly released the accused without any formal action, sparking allegations of misconduct. Friends, family members of the complainant, and other police personnel present at the scene have alleged that the release may have involved the acceptance of a bribe by the RPF official.
