Robbery of Saanchi tree barks valued at over Rs 2 lakh has been reported near National Highway 37 at Bongaon Tiniali in Kakajan, under the jurisdiction of Lahdoigarh Police Outpost. The incident has stirred widespread concern in the area.
Previous incidents of Saanchi tree theft have been reported from the same area, raising alarms among local business owners. In the most recent case, thieves targeted a warehouse owned by local entrepreneurs in the Kakajan Bongaon Tiniali locality. The perpetrators allegedly broke into the storage facility, cut through the stored Saanchi bark, and made off with it.
The entire act was caught on CCTV, the evidence that has been submitted to the authorities. A formal complaint has been lodged by the affected businessmen at the Lahdoigarh Police Outpost, accompanied by the CCTV footage to aid the investigation.
While police investigations are ongoing, the culprits remain at large. This incident adds to a spate of similar crimes reported in neighboring areas, including Mudoi Jan, Kakajan, and Arandhara Gaon, highlighting a growing concern over thefts in the region.
