Assam: Sanction letters distributed to 800 beneficiaries under PMAY in Margherita
In a state-wide initiative carried out on December 9, sanction letters for new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) were distributed to beneficiaries across Assam. As part of this programme, the Margherita Co-District Administration formally handed over sanction letters to eligible recipients under the 83rd Margherita Legislative Assembly Constituency.
The distribution ceremony, organised at the Margherita Town High School playground, saw the presence of Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the significance of PMAY in ensuring secure housing for economically weaker families and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
A total of 800 beneficiaries from the Margherita Development Block—identified on the basis of the 2011 socio-economic census—received their house sanction letters during the event. Officials emphasised that the scheme aims to provide dignified living conditions and upliftment for vulnerable sections of society.
The programme was attended by Margherita Co-District Commissioner Rahul Doley, Tinsukia Zila Parishad Chairperson Bhadeshwar Moran, Margherita Revenue Circle Officer Gyanjyoti Dutta, Margherita Block Development Officer Rohit Kumar Yadav, and Margherita Anchalik Panchayat Chairperson Munmi Gogoi, along with several other dignitaries, officials, and beneficiaries.
