Assam scooty scheme faces allegations of malpractice, showroom owners demand money

There are serious allegations against dealers in Goalpara and Sribhumi for collecting unauthorized money in the name of distributing free scooties under a government scheme.

In Goalpara, the High-Speed Bike Dealer showroom in Balukdubi is accused of asking students for Rs 4000 to deliver their scooties. The dealer allegedly refuses to give the scooty unless the payment is made, even though the scheme promises free scooties to deserving students. Parents are demanding strict action against the dealer for taking advantage of students.

Similarly in Sribhumi, the Royal ATS Hero showroom is being accused of charging Rs 3500 to fit guards on the scooties. A viral phone call revealed a showroom employee asking a student to pay Rs 3500, with a warning that delivery would be delayed without the payment.

In response, students in Sribhumi have submitted a memorandum to the District Commissioner and have appealed to the Chief Minister for action.

These incidents have sparked outrage among students and parents, raising concerns about the fairness of the scheme’s implementation. They are demanding a proper investigation and strict measures to ensure transparency and fairness in the distribution process.
