Assam: Severe storm, heavy rainfall lash various parts of the state, cause massive disruption

Severe storm accompanied by heavy rainfall swept across multiple regions of the state late at night, leading to significant destruction. The impact came shortly after the Meteorological Department issued a weather alert, warning of severe conditions.

The storm’s intensity uprooted large trees, obstructing roads and causing major disruptions to daily life. Visuals captured on camera depict the sheer force of the storm, showcasing the widespread devastation it left in its wake.

In addition to infrastructural damage, the storm severely affected electricity supply, plunging several areas into darkness. The Barak Valley, along with other parts of the state, bore the brunt of the turbulent weather, facing relentless rainfall and strong winds, further escalating hardships for residents.
