Assam: Severe storm hits Kokrajhar, causes widespread disruption

A powerful storm accompanied by heavy rain and lightning struck Kokrajhar today, causing significant disruption across the region. The storm, which hit the Balajan Tiniali area, led to the uprooting of a massive tree, though fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The violent weather has resulted in extensive damage to infrastructure. Several electricity poles have been broken, contributing to widespread power outages. Additionally, JD Road, a major thoroughfare is completely blocked, and the Karigaon-Kokrajhar route has also been closed due to fallen debris and damaged infrastructure.
