Long-running, prostitution took place at the Panbari area under Gauripur police station in Dhubri, at the residence of Jel Hoque and Sapior Rahman, also known as Sopi. The business was allegedly managed by Sapior's wife, Zainab Bibi.

The people later objected and requested that the sex racket be ended, along with the punishment of Jel Hoque, Sapior Rahman, also known as Sopi, and Zainab Bibi, when Gauripur police arrived at the scene.

Six women and five males participating in the prostitution racket were apprehended by Gauripur police, who then brought them to the police station. Meanwhile, a group of firefighters arrived at the scene to establish control over the situation and implement additional safety protocols.

Following the detainment by the public, local authorities likely intervened to address the situation and handle those involved. Such community-driven interventions highlight local vigilance against illegal activities and often lead to law enforcement taking further steps to investigate and resolve the issue.
