Assam: Son stabs father to death in Dergaon amid Bihu festivities

An incident occurred in Rangdhali village under Dergaon Revenue Circle, Assam, during the festive atmosphere of Bihu, where a man was fatally stabbed by his son following a heated argument over alcohol.

The victim, Tileshwar Gogoi, was attacked with a sharp weapon by his son, Suren Gogoi. Sources suggest that Tileshwar had been involved in illegal liquor production, which had previously sparked family disputes.

Chomani village police responded swiftly after being notified of the murder and apprehended Suren Gogoi at the crime scene. 

Locals revealed that alcohol-related conflicts were frequent in the family, contributing to the tragic altercation.

The police have launched an investigation to uncover further details about the incident and its circumstances.
