To empower the youth of Udalguri, eminent social worker Minon Mochahari has launched a special 10-day free training camp to prepare candidates for the upcoming Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) for Grade 3 and 4 positions. The camp, held at Premier Junior College in Udalguri, was inaugurated with great enthusiasm, with Dr. Deepak Kumar Basumatari, Chairman of the Central Selection Board of BTC, lighting the ceremonial lamp.
The organizer, concerned over the lower success rates of Udalguri’s candidates compared to other districts, personally funded the initiative as part of his commitment to providing quality training to the underprivileged. He expressed his belief that the training would significantly improve the district’s representation in the recruitment process. "Our youth have tremendous potential, and with the right guidance, they can excel in the upcoming exams," Minon Mochahari said during the opening ceremony.
As per the schedule, the ADRE Grade 3 exams are set to take place on September 15, 22, and 29, 2024, while the Grade 4 examination will be held on October 27, 2024. The Grade 3 recruitment aims to fill over 7,500 vacancies, and this camp is seen as a vital resource for candidates to strengthen their preparation.
Dr. Deepak Kumar Basumatari, in his address, praised the transparency and fairness of the current recruitment process, which he said has inspired greater confidence in young aspirants. He commended the organizer's efforts, especially for candidates who face financial difficulties and lack access to professional training. "This initiative will not only equip them with skills but will give them the confidence to succeed in these exams," Dr. Basumatari said.
Several distinguished guests, including former Principal of Udalguri Higher Secondary School Pushpadhar Sharma and Udalguri District BJP President Sunil Basumatari, addressed the gathering, offering motivational speeches to the trainees. Leaders from numerous organizations such as ABSU, AASU, AKRASU, and others were also present, further emphasizing the importance of the camp for the district’s youth.
The camp offers comprehensive training provided by experienced instructors from various parts of Assam. In addition to exam preparation, participants will receive continuous support through advanced technical methods, ensuring they are well-equipped to tackle the ADRE exams. Trainers will guide candidates even after the camp ends, offering further mentoring and educational resources.
This initiative comes in the wake of a significant announcement by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in July 2024, regarding the recruitment process for Grade 3 and 4 positions. Sarma stated that the state government would "revisit" its decision to change the pattern of the recruitment examination following feedback from various quarters.
The ADRE for Grade 3 and 4 posts was first conducted in 2022, following the passage of a bill in the state assembly that allowed a single examination for recruitment into these grades across various government departments. The government had also announced plans to fill vacancies in different departments by April next year.
