A pall of gloom has descended after a speeding car killed a Kanwariya in Assam's Bongaigaon during the Bolbom festivities on the third Monday of Sawan month on August 5.
Surjit Sarkar, affectionately known as Sunu, lost his life in a fatal accident in Talguri. Sarkar, a resident of Bilasipara in Dhubri district, was en route to a local temple to participate in the Bolbom rituals when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle.

The accident occurred while Sarkar was riding his bike, registered as AS 17 M 1333. The incident has left the region in shock, dampening the joyous spirit of the Bolbom celebrations.
Authorities are currently investigating the hit-and-run to identify the vehicle involved and bring justice to the bereaved family.
