Assam: Stabbing in Bongaigaon’s Jogighopa leaves two injured following past altercation

A stabbing incident was reported in Jogighopa area of Bongaigaon district on December 15, leaving two persons seriously injured.

The incident took place at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) premises in Jogighopa. The injured have been identified as Arjun Sidha and Suman Mondal.

According to sources, there had been a prior altercation between two groups. The attack allegedly occurred when Arjun Sidha and his associates were returning after lodging a complaint at the Jogighopa Police Station. They were reportedly attacked with sharp weapons by Mrinal Majumdar, Kshitish Sarkar, and Dharmendra Majumdar.

Following the incident, tension prevailed in the area. Police personnel were deployed to maintain law and order.

Jogighopa police have launched an investigation into the incident and further details are awaited.
