Boko’s Kalyani Hospital is at the center of a major controversy following the death of a patient during treatment, with allegations of financial misconduct and unethical practices surfacing against the private healthcare facility.
The deceased, Namita Rabha, a resident of Hakujuli, Dhupdhara, was admitted to the hospital at 12 PM on the previous day for a gallbladder surgery, with hospital authorities reportedly assuring a successful procedure at a cost of ₹35,000. However, tragedy struck when Rabha passed away post-surgery.
Adding to the distress, the patient’s family has accused the hospital of keeping her admitted even after her death and demanding a final bill exceeding Rs 2 lakh, a steep rise from the initially promised amount. Moreover, allegations have emerged that the hospital forced the family to purchase medicines even after the patient had succumbed.
This is not the first time Kalyani Hospital has come under scrutiny, as it has been linked to several past controversies. The incident has led to public outrage, with growing concerns over the hospital’s ethical and medical practices. The situation remains tense as the deceased’s family and local residents demand justice.
