Assam: Tezpur's Durga Puja pandal celebrates Assamese language, inspires youth to embrace native literature

Amidst the vibrant celebrations of Shardiya Durga Puja, a unique pandal in Tezpur has captured attention for its symbolic design and powerful message.

The Durgabari Puja Mandap, located in Bhairab Nagar Tila, stands out among the 150 Durga Puja celebrations held in the city. Modeled after a library, the pandal conveys the significance of promoting the Assamese language and literature to the younger generation.

The intricate design of the pandal not only showcases the cultural heritage of Assam but also emphasizes the importance of studying Assamese texts. The language, which has been officially recognized as a classical language, holds immense historical and literary value. Through this creative representation, the organizers aim to inspire the youth to reconnect with their roots and appreciate the depth of their native language.

This theme-based pandal has become a major highlight in Tezpur, reflecting both the region's rich literary tradition and the broader call for the preservation of Assamese culture amidst modern influences.
