In a gruesome incident, a father, son, and a woman were killed in Sorbhog village in the Barpeta district of Assam on February 14.
According to the reports, the father and son were killed in a family-centric conflict, while the woman was burnt to death post the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Hasmat Ali (57) and Saiful Islam (26) and the woman was identified as Asibur Nessa.
As per reports, Saiful Islam was a CRPF personnel who had come home on holiday.
Locals claimed that the incident occurred when the family members of Hasmat Ali were carrying bricks from a river ghat for house construction, they were reportedly stopped by Abdul Aziz's family members and the conflict started.
When the father and the son went to stop the fight they were allegedly killed by Abdul Aziz's family with a machete.
Soon after the incident, there was chaos in the village and the agitated villagers in anger set Abdul Aziz's house on fire wherein the 70-year-old woman was burned to death.
Besides this, seven people including children were seriously injured in the incident.
Soon after the incident, Barpeta district Superintendent of Police Amitabh Singha rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
As per the police, they have arrested the accused and have started their investigation.
